We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light.

A profound, thought-provoking message. My fear is that the persons who should ponder this are the very ones who won’t get it. Sigh…

I feel so selfish when I check my phone every day for any scrap of new information that you’ve written – gee, THAT doesn’t sound creepy – I am just so fascinated by your life, by your strength. Please don’t be so hard on yourself!!! I know it’s easier said than done, but I am amazed by everything that you’ve been through; everything that you continue to take on for the love of your sweet boy. I have a friend from High School with an autistic son. When I learned of his autism I just thought, ‘Oh, he’s probably a little kooky and really good at math or something.’ Me = wrong. I shared your blog with her, and she devoured it just as I have. You are so strong; your message so important for those of us with no idea, not because we don’t want to know, but because we don’t even know WHAT we don’t know. Thank you again for sharing your life with perfect strangers. Well, nobody’s perfect, I guess……
