i stained my fingertip insides with a deep caligraphy-pen red while writing holiday cards today.
this week was the beginning of jonah’s early-intervention special education. i like both of the women who are assigned to work with jonah.
e. comes at 8:15am (yes, you read that right) twice a week for 30-59 minutes (that’s what the info sheet says).
l. is more of a speech therapist and she comes at 10:30am three times a week. they bring toys along and play with jonah, taking note of how he plays and encouraging him to play appropriately by stacking the pegs, for example, as opposed to flinging them across the room.
they sing to him and sign to him. they are patient & encouraging — and i wouldn’t be happy with anything less.
also, starting the second week of january, jonah will be enrolled in a “music and movement” class on thursday mornings. so now we have a full schedule, and it’s a good one that jonah enjoys (and is getting helped by) for free…for which i am very grateful!
sugar is purring in my lap.
i have my target winter dutch-girl knit hat on.
i decorated our little 4 foot tree in the finished basement, and strung lights all over it and also along the wall.
the shade and curtain are drawn in this little room and consequently it feels like early evening already.
the ice in my glass of pepsi clinks a little as i type, and there’s no other noise but the keyboard keys themselves, and the house-hum white-noise that you can hear when there’s nothing else to hear.
